Technical Programme

During the four-day technical programme there will be plenary sessions, up to four concurrent sessions, and separate poster sessions. 

Session topics and titles are open for discussion and new proposals. Some preliminary themes include:

  • Ore-forming processes
  • Specific mineral systems
  • New research and exploration developments
  • Geometallurgy
  • Sustainable mining and environmental issues
  • Social licence 

Guidelines for Session Proposal Submissions

Submissions are now closed, however the committee are considering late requests. Please email sga2021@confer.co.nz for more information.

SGA 2021 is calling for Session proposals for consideration.  Selected proposals will be included in the conference programme and are intended to provide an opportunity to share your knowledge and experience. Contact sga2021@confer.co.nz for more information.

The detailed session titles and programme will be planned and constructed after approval of the submitted abstracts. 

You will be required to provide the following information during your session proposal submission:

  • Session title (Max 10 words)
  • Session lead and co-convenors (Max 3). Email addresses and a short bio per convenor
  • Description of the aim and content of the session (Max 300 words)
  • Sponsoring organisation (if applicable) plus contact details of sponsoring organisation
  • Links to the Conference themes as per those listed on the conference website
  • Any website or links relevant to the session
  • Any additional, relevant information

  • Proposal submission opens: 18 February 2020
  • Proposal submission closes: 7 September 2020 (extended)
  • Notification of selection: 21 September 2020
